"Jacqueline weaves a tale through her beautiful photographs and words, where we learn that humans can have a major impact on the home of forest creatures - sometimes negative, but surprisingly, sometimes positive."

"A picture book pleasure for any age. After 40 years of reading books to children as an elementary school librarian, I usually have an expectation of how the plot will unfold. This one was a delightful surprise! This slight tale offers a unique opportunity to reflect on things of true value. The beauty of nature captured by these amazing photo illustrations is breath taking. It is rare that a reader can so clearly see the value of seeing things from another point of view. The impact of a story is magnified by sharing it timelessly over the generations."

There is no shortage of incredible wildlife photographers out there but only a few can we claim as Colorado-proud. Jacqueline Crivello, a resident of Evergreen, CO, is one such person. As a photographer, she is published widely around the US and internationally and has won several photography awards, including one of the National Geographic photos of the year, Denver Audubon’s International Photography Award, and Sigma’s Best of Photography. However, Jacqueline does more than just wildlife photography. As of 2020, she stepped into the field of children’s literature and immediately became a best-selling children’s book author. Her book The Magic of the Forest won a Mom’s Choice Award and became a best-seller both in a variety of stores and online. Building off that success, in 2021 she published her second children’s book, Fireball Fox Saves the Forest, our featured book of the month for December.
Fireball Fox Saves the Forest tells the story of a precocious red fox named Fireball who takes it into his paws to save his forest home and his friends from strange beasts cutting down the trees. With a sweet story and an educational message about forest stewardship, this book will entertain kids and adults alike. And the stunning original photography, much of which comes from Jacqueline’s own Evergreen backyard, makes this book as much an art piece as literature. Also a winner of a Mom’s Choice Award for children’s book excellence, Fireball Fox Saves the Forest (Happy Hill Press, 2021) is an excellent choice for a holiday gift this season. @Jackie Crivello

"This book is so beautiful, it takes your breath away! Jacqueline Crivello is an internationally
published nature photographer, but living in Evergreen, Colorado, it is her local nature that she loves to capture on film. This unusual children’s book is filled with wildlife photography and designed to tell an extraordinary tale. A story of a little boy, his wise grandmother, and a secret forest
friend. Winter scenes of deer, moose, a chipmunk, mountain lion, fox, bear, birds, elk, and a very special little friend fill these pages with enchantment and awe. Don't miss it!"

"A little boy with a kind heart listened to the words of his wise grandmother. She taught him that if he trusted and listened to the forest, it would reveal great surprises. When he meets a beautiful little bird, he knows the forest has sent him a secret friend. But Chubby (a partridge) is clearly scared and lost. Can the little boy and the animals of the forest help Chubby find his way home? Or, just maybe, they can help him find the courage to keep searching.
Readers will be awed by the nature high-lighted in Jacqueline Crivello's lovely story and be inspired to dream wild in the great outdoors. Jacqueline is an internationally published nature photographer whose artistry combines extreme action with striking detail. Her images draw viewers into the world of the still untamed Wild West. Although she travels extensively in her relentless quest to capture the perfect image, living in Evergreen, Colorado she dwells amongst the scenery and wildlife she most loves to photograph. He unique and intense work features action at its finest and showcases her extraordinary ability to catch wildlife in the moment at the height of their expression."
